eBay channel vs GCS marketplace
15% on eBay covers eBay’s fees — GCS keeps ~$0 net on those sales.
When a card sells on eBay, the 15% channel rate is set to cover eBay’s marketplace and payment fees (final-value fees). That money goes to eBay’s fee stack — Global Card Show does not take a separate profit cut on eBay sales. Our net on typical eBay sales is near $0; we list and fulfill so you get dual-channel reach without absorbing eBay’s fees yourself.
1. GCS marketplace sales (globalcardshow.com)
When a buyer pays on our site, GCS is the merchant of record (card payment through Stripe). This is where GCS earns its marketplace commission.
- Stripe card processing (typical US online): 2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge (domestic cards). International / conversion may add more. Passed through via payment processing — not GCS commission.
- GCS marketplace commission (declining by sale value): 10%–5% of sale price + $0.10 per card when sold. Higher single-card sale values pay lower rates (see table below). This is GCS’s fee for hosting, vault, and fulfillment on our site.
- Why declining? GCS marketplace commission declines with single-card sale value: 10% under $100, then 9% / 8% / 7% / 6% / 5% as price rises through $100, $500, $1k, $2.5k, and $5k brackets. Higher-value cards keep more. eBay stays flat at 15% because eBay does not give us that break.
- Vault buy / re-list (in-vault transfer): 5% commission only; no per-card processing fee and no shipping for vault-to-vault.
2. Shipping (GCS site)
- Envelope / eSE (eligible raw singles, up to 3): from $1.99.
- Package (graded, bulk, lots): $9.99 under $150 ship subtotal; free at/above that threshold.
- Listing lots: $4.99 package shipping per lot.
- Vault return to home: about $1.99 + $0.25/card (see Shipping policy).
3. eBay channel sales
When an item sells on eBay, the buyer pays eBay. eBay runs checkout, payment, and buyer protection. GCS lists (when enabled) and fulfills (pack, ship, tracking). Stripe card fees do not apply to the eBay checkout itself.
- eBay channel rate (default 15%): Set to cover eBay’s final-value and payment fees — not a second GCS profit markup. After eBay takes its fees, GCS’s net on a typical eBay sale is near $0. You still see one clear rate on your statement so the math stays simple.
- Per-card processing: $0.10 when sold (same intake/ops line as site sales, if charged on your account).
- GCS house inventory (Nick / GCS) is not charged consignor commission.
Why not list “eBay fees + $0”? eBay bills the seller account (GCS). We withhold a single 15% channel rate from consignor proceeds so eBay’s cut is covered and you get dual-channel reach without a surprise shortfall after eBay settles.

6. Account credit / wallet
Sellers receive net sale proceeds as wallet ledger credit when a GCS cart order is paid (after commission and processing). Buyers can optionally fund balance from Account → Profilevia bank ACH (low fee) or typically free P2P (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal Friends & Family), then spend that balance at checkout. Card checkout always remains available without funding first.
